The Hero Splendor, a leader in the commuter motorcycle market, has reached 30 years of continuous production. To mark this milestone, Hero MotoCorp has launched the latest generation Splendor+ Xtec 2.0. This new version is priced at Rs 82,911 ex-showroom, which is Rs 3,000 more than the standard Xtec variant.

The Splendor+ Xtec 2.0 features an LED headlamp and updated graphics. It also comes in new dual-tone color options: matte Grey, Gloss Black, and Gloss Red. The motorcycle maintains its robust build and utilitarian design, with side hooks for mounting goods and a small tail rack.

Powering the Splendor Xtec 2.0 is the reliable 100 cc air-cooled engine that produces 7.09 bhp and 8.05 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 4-speed gearbox. Known for its ability to carry loads beyond its rated capacity and endure the challenges of daily commuting on various Indian road conditions, the Splendor boasts a claimed mileage of 73 kmpl.

Hero Splendor Offering All-Digital Instrument Console And More

The Splendor+ Xtec 2.0 is equipped with an all-digital instrument console that supports Bluetooth for call and message notifications. The digital console also includes a real-time mileage indicator, service reminder, side stand indicator, and other features. Additionally, the Xtec 2.0 features Hero MotoCorp's idle start-stop system.

In terms of cycle parts, the motorcycle has a telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers for suspension, with drum brakes at both ends. In the highly competitive 100cc commuter segment, the Hero Splendor+ Xtec 2.0 competes with the Honda Shine 100 (Rs 64,900) and the Bajaj Platina 100 (Rs 67,808).

Since its introduction in 1994 as part of the former Hero-Honda partnership, the Hero Splendor has been India's top-selling motorcycle. Its popularity quickly surpassed that of its predecessor, the Hero Honda CD100, which was India's favorite four-stroke 100 cc motorcycle in the 1980s. Today, the Hero Splendor remains highly popular, with over 3.2 lakh units sold in April 2024 alone, accounting for more than 62 percent of Hero MotoCorp's total sales.
