Audi AG has unveiled a new entry-level version of the Q6 e-tron lineup, which is slated to enter global markets in August this year. This new variant features a rear-wheel-drive configuration and a newly-developed lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 100 kWh (94.9 kWh net), offering an impressive range of 641 km (WLTP) on a single charge.

Audi Q6 e-tron Impressive Range Revealed

This range surpasses that of the standard Audi Q6 e-tron Quattro, which provides 625 km (WLTP) on a single charge with the same battery capacity. In comparison, the more powerful Audi SQ6 e-tron boasts a range of 568-579 km per charge. The new entry-level variant continues to be based on the scalable Premium Platform Electric (PPE).

The entry-level Audi Q6 is equipped with a more compact electric motor producing 240 kW (322 bhp), delivering power solely to the rear wheels. Audi claims this rear-wheel drive Q6 e-tron can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.6 seconds. Additionally, fast charging for just 10 minutes will extend the electric SUV's range by 260 km.

Aside from its rear-wheel drive powertrain, the new Q6 e-tron Performance variant is visually and functionally identical to other Q6 e-tron models. It features a triple screen dashboard layout with a 14.5-inch central curved touchscreen infotainment display, an 11.9-inch driver’s instrument display, and a 10.9-inch infotainment unit for the front passenger.

Additional features include an optional augmented reality heads-up display, connected car technology, and over-the-air (OTA) updates. Deliveries of the all-wheel drive variants of the Q6 e-tron are expected to begin in August this year, with a launch in India anticipated for next year. However, the launch date for the rear-wheel drive Q6 e-tron Performance in India is not yet confirmed.
