Noida News: A 35-year-old man, along with his younger brother, allegedly killed his seven-month-pregnant wife and then staged the crime scene. He later told the police that attackers had killed his wife while he and his wife were returning from a market in Greater Noida on Wednesday night, senior officers said on Thursday.
Suspected Murder By Brother-in-Law Claims Life Of Pregnant Woman In Noida
The police said the woman's brother-in-law was suspected of murder, he had slashed her neck twice with a knife, and to confuse the authorities, beat his brother three or four times with the knife as well, and later called the police to report a murder.
The police said that the woman who died, aged 32 years old, was Neeraj from Aligarh, who lived with her family in Roza Jalalpur village in Bisrakh. She had married Arjun Singh, 35, five years ago. Singh works in a dental clinic in Greater Noida and has a three-year-old son with Neeraj.
An officer, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Singh and Neeraj had gone to a market near their residence on Wednesday night. While returning, around 9:30 p.m., Singh's younger brother, Ajay, 30, attacked Neeraj with a knife on a deserted stretch, slashing her neck twice.
After Murder, Husband Ran Away
Neeraj dies, and Ajay runs away, Now, according to the same officer, immediately after Ajay's wife was killed, he himself ran away. Singh called the police and told them that unidentified attackers had killed his wife.
It was when Singh was produced before the police that he confessed to killing his wife along with his younger brother. Singh had multiple cuts on his hands, back, and chest, said Assistant Commissioner of Police Diksha Singh, who arrived at the scene.
