New Delhi: The Delhi government has established a 'Green War Room', which will be operational round the clock, in order to further the implementation of its 21-point Winter Action Plan adopted for curbing pollution in the national capital, as stated by the state's Environment Minister, Gopal Rai.

The war room will be operated by a team of eight environmental experts. Seven major tasks have been assigned to the war room. These involve monitoring pollution, analyzing satellite data on stubble burning, and collecting data from the city's 13 hotspots for pollution.

Green War Room Enhances Pollution Tracking With Drones And AQI Monitoring

The war room will also be used this year, with drone mapping and real-time studies, to track sources of pollution better than last year. It will track AQI data from 24 government-run pollution monitoring stations. Rai has stated that the government is repeating its demand to the Centre for permission to set artificial rain for pollution reduction during the winter months, after sending an earlier request on 1st September which has not been responded to yet. The minister demanded the participation of the residents too by reporting pollution-causing activities through the Green Delhi App by uploading photos.

Delhi government introduced a 21-point Winter Action Plan on September 25 that includes drone monitoring, anti-dust campaigns, task forces, road-sweeping machines, and deployment of 200 mobile anti-smog guns in the theme "Mil Kar Chale, Pradushan Se Lade" (Let's Join Together to Fight Pollution).

In other news, Delhi's Environment Minister Gopal Rai has declared the city's Winter Action Plan. The action plan has a host of activities, including drone monitoring, an anti-dust campaign, new task forces, road-sweeping machines, and deploying 200 mobile anti-smog guns to tackle air pollution. The minister also planned to promote work from home and, if need be, odd-even would be applied.

Delhi's AAP Unites For 'Yuddh Pradushan ke Viruddh' Campaign

Aam Aadmi Party, or AAP, has launched a campaign against winter pollution on the social networking site X. The post read, "The Delhi government is launching a campaign called 'Yuddh Pradushan ke Viruddh' today to fight winter pollution in the city. This time, the theme for fighting pollution will be 'Let's walk together - fight pollution.'
