About the NIA Airport

It is constructed in Jewar of Gautam Buddha Nagar district.

The construction of this airport is set to ease the travel experience of people and provide convenience in air travel. It will provide them an option to escape Delhi’s IGI and board the international flight from Noida itself.

The first phase of the airport will feature one runway and one terminal, with the capacity to handle traffic of 12 million passengers annually. Upon completion of all four development phases, the airport will be able to cater to 70 million passengers per year.

The announcement of this project in 2021 had brought wave of happiness among people. Its construction began in June 2022 and is expected to be operational by April, 2025. Passenger flights are expected to begin at Noida International Airport (NIA) in April.

Yamuna International Airport Pvt Ltd (YIAPL) is developing the airport. It was established for the development, construction and operation of the green field project - the Noida International Airport. The company, a 100% subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, is responsible for the implementation of the public-private partnership project in close partnership with the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Government of India.

At its opening, the airport will feature one runway and one terminal and handle a capacity of 12 million passengers – with the potential for further development in additional construction phases.

Noida International Airport (NIA) will apply for aerodrome license by December.

This airport will also have a forecourt inspired by Banaras Ghats. Interestingly, materials used in forecourt are mostly procured locally.
