India's Explosive Batting Makes A New Record

Both Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal's relentless attack helped pave way for India to surpass the record England set in the year 2022 of 89 sixes. Interestingly, no team has ever achieved 96 sixes in an entire year since the beginning of the game back in 1877. Well, for the first time in history India takes the lead. The most that Indians have ever achieved was in the year 2021 when they got 87 sixes.

Yashasvi Jaiswal: The Star Batter For Team India

Jaiswal did the most with a blistering innings that included 10 fours and a six, making it the fourth-fastest fifty for an Indian batter, whereas Rohit got an explosive start of 23 runs off 11 balls, including three sixes and one four. Team India raced to 50 runs in just three overs at Green Park, and broke the record to become the fastest team to do so. Earlier the record was held by England against the West Indies at Trent Bridge earlier this year in 4.2 overs.

As Jaiswal flourished in his assertive game, Shubman Gill also made headlines as India reached the 100-run mark just within 11 overs, making a record once again. Just a few months into 2023, India had set the fastest century by any team against overs faced, this time against West Indies, at Port of Spain.
