Actor Nagarjuna Takes Legal Action Against Konda Surekha For Allegations About Samantha-Chaitanya Split
Veteran actor Nagarjuna Akkineni has taken legal action against Telangana politician Konda Surekha, filing a criminal defamation case in response to her controversial claims regarding his son, Naga Chaitanya, and his former wife, Samantha Ruth Prabhu. On Wednesday, Surekha alleged that K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), a prominent Telangana politician, interfered in the couple’s relationship, leading to their divorce.
Konda Surekha’s Allegations
Surekha claimed that KTR had played a role in the Akkineni family's personal affairs, leading to disturbances that caused the high-profile split between Naga Chaitanya and Samantha. She went so far as to accuse KTR of demanding that Samantha be sent to him in exchange for sparing Nagarjuna’s N-Convention Centre from demolition. According to Surekha, Samantha's refusal led to the breakup of her marriage with Naga Chaitanya.
Legal Actions Taken
Both Nagarjuna and KTR responded swiftly to the accusations. KTR issued a legal notice to Surekha, demanding that she retract her statements, which she has done. However, the damage was already done, creating a significant stir in both political and entertainment circles.
Nagarjuna condemned the remarks, expressing his disapproval on X (formerly Twitter):
"I strongly condemn the comments of the Honorable Minister Mrs. Konda Surekha. Don’t use the lives of movie stars who stay away from politics to criticize your opponents. Please respect other people’s privacy. As a woman in a responsible position, your comments and accusations against our family are completely irrelevant and false."

Naga Chaitanya’s Response
Naga Chaitanya also addressed the situation, calling the claims “ridiculous.” He clarified that the decision to divorce was a painful yet mutual decision between him and Samantha after much thought. Chaitanya urged people not to spread false narratives about their personal lives.
Support from the Film Industry
Several prominent figures from the South Indian film industry, including Allu Arjun, Chiranjeevi, and Nani, have voiced their support for the Akkineni family and Samantha, denouncing the baseless allegations. The issue has caused an uproar, particularly given the sensitive nature of the divorce and the impact on the involved parties.
