Producers and owners of Pooja Entertainment, Jackky Bhagnani  and Vashu Bhagnani have filed a complaint against director Ali Abbas Zafar for siphoning the subsidy funds he took from Abu Dhabi authorities during the shoot of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. The complaint was filed in the Bandra police station on September 3.

Details Of The Complaint

As per the copy of complaint, Bhagnani has accused Ali Abbas Zaffar, Himanshu Mehra, Ekesh Ranadive and others of fraud, cheating, criminal intimidation, misappropriation of funds, fabrication of invoives, criminal conspiracy, money laundering, and harassment.

Bhagnani has further alleged that Zafar took the help of a shell company in Abu Dhabi to carry out these illegal activities. He also claimed the defendants breached contractual obligations, failed to provide transparent financial records and also made unauthorised payment demands, prompting legal action.

How The Problem Started

It all started after director Ali Abbas Zafar accused the production house of non-payment of his dues. He stated that Bhagnani has not paid him 7.30 crore, which was his fees for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Zafar also lodged a complaint with the Directors’ Association, who escalated the matter to FWICE.

When FWICE sent out a letter to Pooja Entertainment, the production house denied the claims and shared, “The dues complained do not constitute a legitimate claim and are subject to various set-offs as communicated to us by BMCM Films ltd.”

For the unversed, this is not the first time that Pooja entertainment has been accused of non-payment. Earlier, a crew member named Ruchita Kamble posted a long note on Instagram, urging everyone to not work with the production house. Siding with the victims, FWICE President BN Tiwari had also confirmed earlier that Pooja Entertainment owes 65 lakhs to its crew members who worked on Mission Raniganj, Ganapath and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.

About Bade Miyan Chote Miyan

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff was released in theatres in April this year. Despite a strong star cast, the film failed to mint money at the box office. Made on a budget of 350 crore, the film hardly managed to make 59.17 crores in total.
