While it’s a good news for cinephiles, the filmmakers are going to face a tough competition from each other. It would be interesting to see which film takes an upper hand. Here’s what the trade experts have to say:

National Cinema Day: Stree 2 VS Tumbbad

Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2 is in its fifth week but is still going very strong. It might face tough competition from Tumbbad, which has become a sleeper hit over the years. However, Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh believes that Stree 2 will overshadow others. “Between Stree 2 and Tummbad, former will definitely have an edge. Moreover, the Rajkummar starrer will give tough competition to other new releases.”

Trade expert Komal Nahta also agrees and shares, “Stree 2 will give the maximum mileage. The film’s performance so far has proved that it’s not just a hit or superhit. It’s an all-time blockbuster and highest-grosser. It will soon be in its sixth week and is still doing so well.”

Nahta also predicts the box office performance of the films, ranking them from highest to lowest earners based on several factors. “I feel Stree 2 will take the first spot. The film is a family entertainer and will see a good footfall on National Cinema Day. It will be followed by Yudra, a new release full of action and drama. The movie is sure to attract audience. Tumbbad will take the next spot,” he tells us.

National Cinema Day: Festival for Movie Aficionados

Taran Adarsh expresses happiness over the low ticket prices for cinema day and says that this will let people have a good time with family, without splurging. “A plan to multiplex cost nothing less than 200-250 per person and even more sometimes. This has become a commonality. But Rs 99 for a ticket (plus taxes) is surely a great deal. This will boost ticket sales as well,” he ends.

While screen counts are yet to be determined, Taran Adarsh anticipates impressive earning by all the films.
