Bollywood actor Govinda made his fans worried after the news of him being accidentally shot with his own gun surfaced. He got injured while getting to leave home on the morning of October 1. The actor was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital. He has now issued his first official statement after being injured.

In the note, he can be heard saying, “Namaskar, pranaam, main hoon Govinda, aap sab logon ke aashirwad aur maa-baap ka aashirwad, guru ki kripa ke wajah se goli lagi thi par woh nikaal di gayi hai. Main dhanyavad deta hoon yahan ke doctor ka, aadarniya doctor Agarwal ji ka aur aap sab logon ki prarthana jo hai, aap logon ka dhanyavad, pranaam (I am Govinda. Thanks to your blessings, my parents’ blessings, and the grace of my guru, I was shot, but the bullet has been taken out. I thank the doctors here, especially Dr. Agarwal, and I appreciate all your prayers).”

According to the reports by Aaj Tak, the incident happened around 4:45 a.m., while Govinda was keeping his licensed gun in the case. It slipped out of his hand and got misfired. The actor was alone in his house at that time and was getting ready to head out from his home to reach Kolkata.

Govinda's Daughter Also Shares Health Update

In a statement given to Indian Express, Govinda's daughter Tina Ahuja shared that she is in the hospital with her father. "I’m currently with papa in the ICU. I can’t talk much right now… but I want to assure that papa’s health is much better now. After the bullet injury, papa underwent surgery, and it was successful. All tests have been conducted by doctors, and the reports are good," she said, adding, “Papa will remain in the ICU for at least 24 hours. After 24 hours, doctors will decide whether to keep papa in the ICU or not. Doctors are continuously monitoring papa’s condition; there’s no need to worry.”
