In 1966, Reita Faria created history as she was the first Indian woman to win the title of Miss World. Since then, India has achieved this prestigious title six more times, with hopes of securing it for the seventh time by supporting Sini Shetty, who is representing India in the 71st Miss World pageant.

Miss World Was Teased At School

Rita was admired for her beauty, smart personality, and energy, she had a height of 5 feet 8 inches. Although she had faced teasing and jokes from classmates, who called her "Mummy Long Legs," Rita stayed determined and focused on her goals.

What Reita Faria Wanted To Do In Childhood?

From a young age, Reita harbored a dream of becoming a doctor, a goal she pursued with unwavering determination. Even after achieving the title of Miss World, she remained committed to her ambition and completed her MBBS studies. Upon becoming a doctor, Rita chose to lead a modest life, distancing herself from the glamour of her past. Now, at 80 years old, she resides in Mumbai.
