Navratri 2024: Shubhangi Atre’s time during the navratri season is mostly spent on the sets of 'Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain'. But despite the hectic schedule, she ensure enjoying and celebrating the festival in whatever way possible. “I visit the temple at least once during the nine days of Navratri and consume sattvic food,” she tells us.

Not just that, she gets into the celebratory spirit by wearing clothes that emit the festive vibe. She explains us, “It's believed that each day of Navratri is associated with a specific colour, symbolising something unique. So I try to coordinate my attire with the designated colour for each day. For example, I wore yellow on day one and green on day 2.”

Wearing a specific colour on each day of navratri is a widely practiced tradition. It is believed that it enhances the festive spirit and strengthens the divine connection. Yellow is for day one, Green for day 2, Grey for day 3, Orange for day 4, White for day 5, Red for day 6, Blue for day 7, Pink for day 8 and Purple for day 9.

As mentioned, work is keeping her occupied, but Shubhangi plans to steal some time to have fun this year. “This time, I plan to take some time to enjoy the festive dandiya and garba nights in my society,” she shares.

While Navratri celebrations are fun today, Shubhangi recalls how the vibe was entirely different during her childhood days. “Every morning we used to offer prayers to Maa Durga - it’s a ritual that we follow since childhood. I remember playing Garba and Dandiya with my sisters and friends. And after the garba and dandiya we used to binge on snacks like samosa.”

Shubhangi tells us that playing garba and dandiya continuously would become tiring, yet she would not stop. “Those 10 days used to be the best days for us when we were kids,” she ends.
