Before venturing into the entertainment industry, Jackie Shroff resided in the Teen Batti area of Mumbai during his childhood, engaging in street fights on behalf of his friends, even enduring beatings. Recounting his challenging days, he shared in an interview that he earned a livelihood by selling peanuts at the bus stand, occasionally indulging himself with Jalebi.

Despite dropping out of junior college after the 11th grade, Jackie later obtained a diploma in travel and tourism, securing a job at a travel agency. His entry into the film industry began with a minor role as Shakti Kapoor's gang member in 'Swami Dada' in 1982. However, he quickly ascended to his first lead role in Subhash Ghai's "Hero" in 1983, marking the beginning of an illustrious career.

In 1983, Subhash Ghai sought a fresh face for his film 'Hero,' propelling Jackie Shroff into stardom alongside Meenakshi Seshadri. He went on to feature in commercial successes like 'Andar Baahar,' 'Jaanoo,' 'Yudh,' and 'Karma,' establishing himself as a prominent actor. Over his career, Jackie Shroff has been part of numerous hits and blockbusters, amassing a filmography of over 200 movies. Affectionately known as Jaggu Dada by his fans, his journey from selling peanuts to becoming a beloved actor is an inspiring narrative of determination and triumph.
