Hours after Hamas fired rockets into the Tel Aviv area, Israel launched an attack on Rafah. The airstrike hit a tent camp for displaced people in the city, killing 45 and injuring more than 200 people. According to the Israeli military, two Hamas operatives were killed in an attack in southern Rafah.

Many, including Iran, condemned the attack, sharing the phrase "All eyes on Rafah". The official X-handle of the Iranian embassy in New Delhi also posted: "All eyes on Rafah" is a phrase referring to the ongoing genocide in Rafah, Gaza, where more than 1.4 million Palestinians are seeking refuge."

Hamas, which rules Gaza, is currently at war with Israel. The group attacked Israel across the Gaza border on October 7 last year, killing hundreds of people and taking several hostages.
