After keeping himself away from films for quite a long period, Arvind Swamy started working again in the film nearly two decades later. He received tremendous acclamation from audiences for his portrayal of M.G. Ramachandran in 'Thalaivii' in 2021, pairing up with Kangana Ranaut.

In his personal life, in 1994, Arvind Swamy married Gayathri Ramamurthy. The couple later divorced in 2010. He then married to Aparna Mukerjee and is now forever living with both of his children, Adheera and Rudra Swamy.
