12 Public Holidays Coming In August! Check Them Out Before Making Plans
Several important festivals in August will increase demand for public transportation, leading to heightened activity. This month is the festival of Independence Day, Raksha Bandhan or the bond of protection, and Janmashtami, or the birthday of Lord Krishna. Also, five Saturdays and four Sundays are incorporated into the count of the holiday to have institutions that operate under a five-day working week. Continuing, Janmashtami is celebrated on 26 August and the same day is considered a public holiday in Indonesia. Janmashtami falls on Tuesday.
