Amethi 2024 Lok Sabha Election Results: Smriti Irani, the BJP candidate and Union Minister, is losing from Amethi by 50,000 votes as the counting for Lok Sabha elections continues.
The Amethi seat includes five assembly segments: Tiloi, Salon, Jagdishpur, Gauriganj, and Amethi. It is categorized as a general seat. The voting for the Amethi seat took place during the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 on May 20th.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Smriti Irani achieved a notable triumph in Amethi, a constituency traditionally dominated by the Gandhi family, by defeating Rahul Gandhi, who had represented the seat for 15 years. Smriti Irani secured victory over the former Congress president by a margin of 55,120 votes. In their initial electoral contest in 2014, Rahul Gandhi emerged victorious against the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
