Andhra: 17 Fresh Faces In Chandrababu Naidu's Cabinet of 25; Pawan Kalyan To Be Deputy CM

Today, N. Chandrababu Naidu took oath as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh with 24 cabinet ministers, including Pawan Kalyan as Deputy Chief Minister. Key BJP and Jana Sena Party members also joined the cabinet.

Chandrababu Naidu sworn in as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister today, with 24 cabinet ministers

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu was sworn in as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh today, June 12, along with 24 cabinet ministers. The ceremony took place at Kesarapalli IT Park near Gannavaram Airport in Vijayawada, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other top BJP leaders in attendance.

Chandrababu Naidu has assigned three positions to the Jana Sena Party, with its president Pawan Kalyan being appointed as Deputy Chief Minister. One ministerial position has been allocated to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), another ally.

Besides Pawan Kalyan, the cabinet of the Jana Sena Party comprises Nadendla Manohar and Kandula Durgesh. Satya Kumar Yadav serves as the sole BJP minister in Naidu’s cabinet.

Among the 24 ministers, 17 are new faces. The cabinet comprises three women, eight leaders from the Backward Classes, two from the Scheduled Castes, one from the Scheduled Tribes, and one Muslim.

Naidu's son, Nara Lokesh, has been appointed to the cabinet. Additionally, two leaders who left the YSR Congress, Anam Ramnarayana Reddy and Kolusu Parthasarathy, will be sworn in as ministers today.

The TDP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured victory in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly election, claiming 164 out of 175 seats. Among them, the TDP secured 135 seats out of 144 contested, while the Jana Sena Party (JSP) won all 21 contested seats, and the BJP secured eight out of 10 contested seats. The incumbent YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) managed to secure only 11 seats.
