At a time when the BJP has been bogged down with internal bickerings and squabbles, its veteran leader Anil Vij has joined the race for the office of chief minister. Talking to news agency ANI, he said that he is the senior leader in the state BJP. He said, "BJP will form its government in Haryana. The Chief Minister will be decided by the party; if they want me, then our next meeting will be at the Chief Minister's residence. I am the senior-most in the party."

As the polling for Haryana Assembly Election 2024 is underway, Vij has expressed his confidence in the victory of the saffron party. A sitting MLA from Ambala Cantt, he said, "BJP will form its govt in Haryana."

Anil Vij Slams Congress

Vij, criticized the Congress leader Kumari Selja, and claimed she feels "suffocated" and disrespected within her party​. He also emphasized that the people of Ambala would rally behind the BJP, equating the party’s lotus symbol with peace and said "The people of Ambala want to stay peacefully; they do not want hooliganism back here."

In total, 1,031 candidates are contesting across the 90 assembly seats, with 20,632 polling booths set up to facilitate the voting process. The state's electoral landscape is heavily monitored, with over 29,462 police personnel, 21,196 home guards, and 10,403 Special Police Officers deployed to ensure a peaceful and secure voting environment​.
