The Ahmedabad Police has recently seized fake currency worth Rs 1.60 crore in Gujarat. The image of Veteran Actor Anupam Kher was printed on fake currencies in place of Mahatma Gandhi. The term 'Resole Bank of India' was also been used in place of 'Reserve Bank of India'. The counterfeit currency was recovered during a police operation as per media reports.

In the latest incident, police busted a fake currency manufacturing unit in Surat. Four people were arrested in connection to the racket on September 22.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rajdeep Nakum, the act was inspired by actor Shahid Kapoor's Farzi, a web series centered on a small-time con artist who becomes rich through counterfeiting.

In a significant raid in an office in the Sarthana locality by the Special Operations Group (SOG) officials on Saturday, three people were arrested with 'high-quality' counterfeit notes worth Rs 1.20 lakh. A fourth suspect was caught later on.

According to a police release, the suspects were printing fake currency in rented office premises masquerading it as an online business.

In terms of work, Anupam Kher will be seen in the upcoming Emergency Movie starring Kangana Ranaut.
