After taking oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi, Atishi, in her very first speech spoke in a tone of faithfulness towards her 'political guru'. The BJP had been addressing her as the dummy chief minister since her name was proposed for this post by Arvind Kejriwal. But this was the time to prove them wrong and win the hearts of millions of Delhiites for the Oxford University graduate. The opportunity she utilized to show her faithfulness towards the former CM of Delhi and the party chief Arvind Kejriwal.

'Kejriwal: Most popular CM of Delhi'

Sitting in her chair as she assumed the post, Atishi said, "Firstly, I thank the son of Delhi, the most popular chief minister in the history of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal ji, AAP leader, my elder brother and political guru for trusting me and handing me this responsibility of taking care of the people of Delhi."

Speaking further, she said, "This is an emotional moment for all of us when Arvind Kejriwal ji is not the Chief Minister of Delhi. He is the one who changed the picture of Delhi in ten years, and who impacted the lives of people in the last ten years. Arvind Kejriwal is the person who felt the pain of a common man."

Atishi campaigns as she assumes post

Atishi firmly said that Indian history and world history have never seen a leader as honest and ethical as Kejriwal. He doesn't want acquittal only by the court of law, he wants it from the court of the people. He added that it is the responsibility of her and the people of Delhi to put efforts to bring him back in this chair in February 2025. He wants to come back after being acquitted by the court of people who will do justice and give their mandate in the upcoming Delhi assembly elections.

Hitting out at the BJP, she added that BJP's eyes are on the benefits that Delhiites are getting and if it gets a chance, it would revoke free electricity, free water, and free bus services from women. The quality of education that has improved in the governance of AAP will deteriorate if the BJP gets a chance.
