Ram Mandir faces terrorist threat after inauguration, sparking high alert; security tightened amid rising concerns over attacks nationwide.

The Ram Mandir, a partially constructed Hindu temple complex in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, has garnered significant attention since its inauguration on January 22, 2024.

Following a prana pratishtha (consecration) ceremony, the temple saw an influx of over half a million visitors on its opening day. The temple's daily visitors averaged between 100,000 to 150,000 in the following month.

Amidst this fervor, a new threat has emerged. An audio message, reportedly from Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist Amir, has gone viral, claiming that the temple, built on what he alleges was their demolished mosque, will be bombed.

Amir mentions that three of his associates have already sacrificed their lives and insists that the temple must be destroyed. Security agencies are actively investigating the authenticity of this audio message, and both central and state government agencies have been put on high alert.

This isn't the first time the Ram Mandir has been targeted. In 2023, a bomb threat from Jaish-e-Mohammed turned out to be a hoax.

However, the group has a history of targeting the site, notably carrying out an attack in Ayodhya on July 5, 2005. The current threat has prompted a significant increase in security around the temple complex.

The rise in threats coincides with an increase in terrorist activities across the country following the Lok Sabha elections. Recently, Jammu and Kashmir experienced a series of attacks, with incidents reported in Reasi, Kathua, and Doda over a span of five days.

These continuous attacks have heightened concerns for security agencies, emphasizing the need for vigilance and robust security measures to protect the Ram Mandir and other sensitive locations.
