Former Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan Announces Retirement After Being Excluded From Candidates' List

Harsh Vardhan, former Union Minister and BJP MP, retired from politics after being excluded from the initial Lok Sabha candidate list. BJP replaced 33 MPs, including four from Delhi. Vardhan plans to return to medicine.

Former Union Minister and current BJP MP, Harsh Vardhan, declared his retirement from politics on Sunday, following the BJP's release of its initial list of Lok Sabha election candidates, which notably excluded his name.

In a comprehensive statement announcing his departure, Vardhan reminisced about his accomplishments over his over thirty years of a illustrious electoral journey and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party members.

The 69-year-old leader revealed his intention to return to the medical profession.

"I move on, I really can’t wait. I have promises to keep .. and miles to go before I sleep !! I have a dream .. and I know your blessings shall always remain with me . My ENT clinic at Krishna Nagar too awaits my return," he tweeted.

The BJP's first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi saw a major shake-up as four sitting MPs—Parvesh Verma, Ramesh Bidhuri, Meenakshi Lekhi, and Harsh Vardhan—were replaced with new faces from their respective constituencies.

Additionally, In its initial list, BJP replaced 33 sitting MPs across various constituencies with new candidates.
