CPI(M) Veteran Sitaram Yechury Dies At 72, Condolences Pour In
CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury passed away on Thursday. He was receiving treatment for pneumonia at AIIMS, New Delhi.
The CPI(M) Chief was admitted to the emergency wing of AIIMS on August 19, 2024, due to a high fever and later shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). According to ANI reports, CPI(M) leader Hannan Mollah informed that the General Secretary is no more.
Offering a heartfelt 'Red Salute' to the Veteran Leader, the official handle of the CPI(M) tweeted, "Our beloved comrade, General Secretary of CPI(M), passed away at AIIMS today."
Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP) President, Mehbooba Mufti has expressed her grief about the passing of CPI(M) Leader in an X post.
Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi has also shared his grief on the death of Sitaram Yechury. He wrote, "he was a friend. A protector of the concept of India with an in-depth understanding of our country." He further stated that he would miss the long discussions he had with him.
Samajwadi Party's Chief Akhilesh Yadav also took to his x account to pay his respect to the deceased CPI(M) Leader.
