Prayagraj: A couple in Prayagraj defrauded people of around ₹400 crore and escaped. The victims, including students, traders, lawyers, housewives, and others, were enticed into investing in properties, only to have their hard-earned money taken by the couple, who disappeared within two years.

Multiple police teams have been formed to locate and arrest the fraudulent couple. Authorities are currently collecting information about their properties and bank accounts.

An FIR has been filed against Abhishek Dwivedi, director of Niharika Ventures, along with his wife Niharika and his father Om Prakash. In their complaint to the police, the fraud victims stated that the accused established a company two years ago, promising returns on investments in the real estate sector. Investors were attracted to properties located in various areas of the district. Within two years, over 200 individuals invested in the company and even persuaded their acquaintances to invest as well.

On June 6, investors discovered that Om Prakash had evicted his son Abhishek from his property. Om Prakash informed the investors that his son had gone missing. The victims of the fraud allege that this was a conspiracy to shield the culprits. Police officials have reported that 221 fraud victims have come forward so far. An FIR has been lodged against the accused for swindling them of ₹400 crore. The victims hail from diverse sections of society, including students, traders, lawyers, housewives, and others.

Sanjay Gupta, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Shivkuti police station, stated that the police are gathering further information about the couple and are actively working to track them down.
