New Delhi: The security of RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat has undergone a significant upgrade from the existing 'Z-Plus' category to a more strict Advanced Security Liaison (ASL) protocol. This exceptional security enhancement now places Bhagwat's security on par with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

This upgrade stems from a newly conducted risk assessment in anticipation of the upcoming Jammu & Kashmir Assembly Elections. The RSS exerts substantial influence in Jammu, prompting strengthened security for its leader. An alarming revelation claimed that RSS Chief Bhagwat's security arrangements were inadequate during his visits to non-BJP governed states. This inadequacy hints at a safety threat to Mr. Bhagwat in politically unstable regions.

ANI Report Highlights Increased Risks from Radical Groups

ANI's assessment report pointed out potential dangers from various organizations including radical groups without quoting named sources and identified increased risks. The total number of individuals covered under Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) protection stands at 200. Mohan Bhagwat, one of the ten individuals in India currently obtaining 'Z-Plus' security under CISF, now benefits from upgraded security.

ASL Security Protocols

The intensified ASL security involves advanced actions such as anti-sabotage protocols, multi-layered security rings, and travel arrangements  in specially designed aircraft with rigid protocols. Additionally, this level of security calls for collaboration with local agencies, including district administrations, police forces, and healthcare institutions. Under the ASL protocol, an advanced security team is deployed to assess entry and exit routes ahead of any dignitary's visit and prepare contingency plans.
