The Himachal Pradesh Congress has called out Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut to substantiate her claims that the state government diverted loans to Sonia Gandhi. If she fails to provide proof, the Congress plans to file a defamation case against her.

Allegations and Responses

Minister Vikramaditya Singh criticized Ranaut's statements, describing them as reflecting "intellectual bankruptcy." He challenged her to provide evidence of any funds being misappropriated or to apologize to Sonia Gandhi for her accusations. Singh emphasized that government funds are managed transparently and through established financial processes.

Ranaut had previously claimed that Congress-ruled states had depleted their resources, alleging that disaster funds intended for relief actually ended up benefiting Sonia Gandhi.

Minister's Critique of Ranaut

Singh, son of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, expressed concern over Ranaut's educational background, suggesting it influenced her statements. He also commented on her film “Emergency,” which has yet to receive clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification, hinting that her frustration over this might be fueling her allegations.

Singh labeled Ranaut’s comments as “baseless” and suggested she was “out of control,” having been warned by the BJP leadership to avoid sensitive topics.

Political Tensions and Personal Attacks

Ranaut, who previously defeated Singh in the Lok Sabha elections, took a jab at him, criticizing the state of local infrastructure and suggesting that the public is fed up with poor road conditions. Congress leaders, including Pratibha Singh, condemned Ranaut's unfounded claims and emphasized the need for factual discourse in politics.
