Crack In Atal Setu

The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), also known as the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu, has come under inspection following the discovery of cracks on its tar road exit leading to Ulwe in Navi Mumbai. Inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi just over five months ago, the Atal Setu is currently the longest sea bridge in India.

The appearance of cracks on the recently inaugurated bridge has sparked controversy and raised allegations of corruption.

Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole visited the site to assess the cracks and expressed grave concerns regarding commuter safety.

"I'm here to demonstrate that our claims are not mere allegations. The government claims to work for the people, yet here we witness corruption. They are enriching themselves, but who authorized risking people's lives? The public must strategize to remove this corrupt government," Patole emphasized.

Inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in January this year at a cost of around Rs 17,840 crore, the MTHL is named after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. This major infrastructure project aims to improve connectivity and shorten travel times between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.

"This bridge bears the name of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, whom we all hold in high regard. However, it's regrettable that corruption is occurring under his namesake. Prime Minister Modi must take serious note of these developments," Patole remarked.

The appearance of cracks on one side of the tar road has raised concerns regarding the construction quality and the project's integrity.
