Delhi Boy Dies By Suicide For Not Being Able To Study Science

A 16-year-old Class 11 student, Kunal Rai from Nagloi area in Delhi, was found dead in the dormitory of a private school in Delhi. After the initial investigation, the police believe he took his own life due to study related concerns. His body was discovered early on Friday, it was believed that he was depressed because his friends had transferred to another school.

Rai, who wanted to pursue science but found that his school did not offer it, was upset because his friends had transferred to another school where they could study science. Despite his father's advice to remain at his current school and continue with the arts stream, Rai felt isolated and disheartened. On July 25, around 6 am, he tragically ended his life by hanging himself from a ceiling bar using a piece of cloth torn from a bed sheet.

Distressed by his situation, Kunal took his own life by hanging himself from a ceiling bar using a piece of cloth from a bed sheet. A visible ligature mark on his neck confirmed the cause of death.

Following a postmortem examination, the body was returned to the family. No evidence of foul play has been detected. Authorities have launched an inquest under Section 194 of the BNSS to further investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
