The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for the Delhi-NCR region following heavy rainfall that hit the city on Wednesday evening. The unexpected downpour led to waterlogging in several areas, disrupting traffic and making it difficult for pedestrians to move around.

According to the latest forecast, moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, and Ghaziabad in the next few hours as "clouds have converged over Delhi from all directions." Winds are anticipated to reach speeds of 30-50 km/h. The red alert remains in effect until 9 pm. Waterlogging was even observed in front of the New Parliament's Makar Dwar.
