Delhi Police Quash Speculation About 'Mysterious Animal' At Oath Ceremony

The Delhi Police clarified that a viral video showing an unidentified animal during the Rashtrapati Bhavan oath-taking ceremony actually captured a common house cat, not a wild animal as speculated on social media.

The Delhi Police stepped in to address the buzz around a video circulating on social media. It showed what seemed to be an unknown animal roaming around during the Rashtrapati Bhavan oath-taking ceremony.

Social media erupted with claims of spotting a leopard-like creature in the background as BJP MP Durga Das greeted President Droupadi Murmu after being sworn in as a minister.

Setting the record straight, the Delhi Police weighed in, clarifying that the animal captured on camera was not a wild one, as claimed by some outlets. They explained in a post on X that it was, in fact, just a common house cat, urging people to ignore the rumors.

Speculations ran wild on social media, with some even suggesting it could be a leopard. The incident of an animal near the highly secure Rashtrapati Bhavan during such a significant event fueled these speculations. However, a Delhi Police official, as reported by PTI, debunked these claims, stating that only dogs and domestic cats reside within the complex.

President Murmu administered the oath of office to a diverse Council of Ministers consisting of 30 cabinet ministers, 36 Ministers of State, and five MoS with independent charge, totaling 72 members.

Key figures like Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, and S Jaishankar continued in their roles as Cabinet ministers. Additionally, the Council includes 11 ministers from NDA alliance partners, reflecting a broad coalition at the helm of governance.
