Delhi: Two-Storey Building Collapses In Model Town, CCTV Footage Released
New delhi: A two-storey building in North West Delhi's Model Town area collapsed on Saturday following heavy rainfall, according to ANI. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. in Mahendru Enclave, where the old structure, which was undergoing repairs, came down. Rescue operations are currently underway.
CCTV Footage Captures The Collapse
CCTV footage shared by PTI shows the building's collapse amidst continuous rain. An eyewitness described the building as an old banquet hall that collapsed at around 3 o'clock. The witness, who fled the scene after the incident, reported that his child sustained some scratches. It is believed that repair work was ongoing in the rear part of the building, and reports suggest that some people may be trapped under the debris.

Other Recent Incidents In Delhi
In a related incident, two people were injured on Friday in Delhi's Dichaon area when a wall of an MCD school, along with an uprooted tree, fell on them due to heavy rains. A police official reported that an old Neem tree was uprooted by the rain, causing it to fall on the school wall, which then collapsed onto two motorcycle riders who were taking shelter under the tree. The injured, identified as Rajesh (25) and Ashok Kumar Yadav (32), were taken to Rao Tula Ram Memorial Hospital and have since been discharged.
In another incident on August 2, one person was killed when part of a building collapsed in northwest Delhi's Jahangirpuri area. Delhi Fire Services Chief Atul Garg confirmed that four people, including a woman, were rescued and taken to the hospital.
