Waterlogging, Flood, Traffic Congestion! Severe Downpour In Delhi-NCR Causes Chaos
Delhi Weather: Heavy rainfall on Thursday morning caused severe waterlogging and traffic jams in Delhi, especially on Mehrauli-Badarpur Road. Vehicles struggled to move through the flooded streets, with many unable to pass easily. Visuals from the Parade Road Underpass in Delhi Cantonment showed the extent of the flooding.
The continuous rain has caused severe traffic congestion in several areas, including Dhaula Kuan, where roads are heavily waterlogged. The rain started early Thursday, following thunderstorms and lightning in the National Capital Region (NCR) on Wednesday.

This August has been especially rainy for Delhi, with 23 days of rainfall so far, breaking the previous records of 22 rainy days in 2012 and 20 days in 2011. Weather officials define a "rainy day" as one with more than 2.4 mm of rainfall.
IMD Warns Of Severe Weather In Delhi
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted continued heavy rainfall in Delhi and nearby areas throughout the week. Citizens are advised to be cautious and avoid unnecessary travel due to the ongoing bad weather warnings from the IMD.
Cyclonic Circulation Over Uttar Pradesh
Current weather patterns indicate a cyclonic circulation over southeast Uttar Pradesh, with a trough extending to the east-central Bay of Bengal. On Wednesday, the Safdarjung observatory recorded a low of 23.4 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal, while the high reached 34 degrees Celsius. The weather office expects temperatures to rise slightly in the coming days.
