dreams turned to ashes neet aspirant and family perish in gwalior blaze

A massive fire broke out in a house in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, around 4 am today. A father and his two young daughters were burned alive, out of which one of them was preparing for NEET. They screamed for help, but no one could enter the flames to save them. All three bodies were eventually recovered.

The elder daughter, who was preparing for NEET to become a doctor, saw her dreams destroyed in the fire. The fire broke out in a house in Kailash Nagar, Bahodapur Tiraya, and was put out by five fire brigades, but they couldn't save the three people trapped inside. The fire was likely caused by a short circuit or gas leak in the kitchen. The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem.

What happened with the NEET Aspirant's family?

Atiwal Singh Yadav, the Municipal Corporation's fire brigade nodal officer, said the deceased were Vijay Gupta (also known as Bunty), his 17-year-old daughter Yashika, and his 22-year-old daughter Anishka. They died from burns and suffocation in the fire. Vijay Gupta was a dry fruit businessman, and Anishka was preparing for the NEET exam. The family lived on the third floor, but the fire spread through the entire building, preventing their evacuation.

The fire brigade and SDRF team struggled to control the fire. Vijay Gupta's warehouse, Hari Kripa Dry Fruit, was on the second floor. Neighbors, alerted by the noise, rushed to help extinguish the fire. The fire brigade and SDRF team broke through the wall to enter the house.

Atiwal Singh Yadav said that when Vijay and his two daughters were rescued, they were badly burned and still breathing, but all three died before reaching the hospital. The fire likely started from a short circuit, and there was a foul smell of gas leakage, so it could have been caused by a gas leak. CCTV cameras in the warehouse were also burned. The investigation into the cause is ongoing, but the sudden fire has caused panic in the area.
