The Madhya Pradesh High Court allowed the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) to survey the Bhojshala Temple and Kamal-Maula Mosque complex in Dhar, following a request from the Hindu side to ascertain the true nature of the site, contested by Muslims as a mosque.

The Bhojshala Temple is a disputed site claimed by both Hindus and Muslims. Hindus assert it as the temple of Goddess Wagdevi, also known as Saraswati, while Muslims believe it to be the Kamal Maula mosque.

The Bhojshala-Kamal Maula mosque, under the protection of the ASI, permits Hindus to pray on the site on Tuesdays and during Basant Panchami, while Muslims are allowed to offer namaz on Fridays. A bench comprising Justices Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and Devnarayan Mishra has ordered a comprehensive scientific investigation, survey, and excavation of the Bhojshala complex.
