While addressing a press conference in Karnal, Mann said "Kangana has a lot of experience with rape. You can consult her on how it happens. People need to be educated about how rape occurs." The SAD Amritsar chief stated that advocates for freedom were being targeted by the government. He expressed that Sikhs were not free and he backed their aspirations for a separate country, suggesting the desire for a buffer state to prevent war between India and Pakistan.

He endorsed opening the Wagah border to facilitate trade and contended that those in prison for 30 years should be released. He questioned the central government's differential treatment between Hindus and Sikhs in matters of justice.
