Haryana Assembly Election 2024: Polling In 90 Seats, 1,031 Candidates — BJP, JJP Or Congress, Who Will Be The Winner?

As many as 1,031 candidates are contesting across 90 assembly constituencies in Haryana, with a total of 20,632 polling booths set up for the elections.

Haryana Assembly Election 2024: Polling is set to be held for 90 seats in the Haryana Assembly in a single-phase election on October 5. Following an intense campaign that concluded on Thursday, the results will be declared on October 8.

In the 15th Haryana Legislative Assembly Polls scheduled between 7 am to 6 pm on Saturday, a total of 2,03,54,350 voters will be able to cast their votes, Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Agarwal said.

According to reports, as many as 1,031 candidates are contesting across 90 assembly constituencies, with a total of 20,632 polling booths set up for the elections. Out of these - 930 are males, 101 are females and 464 are independent candidates.

Additionally, out of the total 2,03,54,350 voters - 1,07,75,957 are men, 95,77,926 are women and 467 identify as third gender.

Notably, there are 5,24,514 voters aged between 18-19 years and 1,49,142 voters with disabilities - 93,545 (males), 55,591 (females), and 6 (third gender). Agarwal stated that out of the 8,821 voters above 100 years of age - 3,283 are males and 5,538 are females.

He further informed that 2,31,093 electors are 85 years and above. Male and female electors in this category are 89,940 and 1,41,153 respectively.

Additionally, there are 1,09,217 service voters -

1,04,426 males

4,791 females

The outcome of the elections will decide whether it will be a third successive term for the BJP or a decade-long comeback for the Congress party. The most prominent parties in the Haryana election are BJP, Congress, AAP, and a pre-poll alliance between INLD-BSP and JJP-ASP.

BJP emerged as the single largest party winning 40 of the total 90 seats in 2019 elections. The Haryana Assembly election results along with that of Jammu and Kashmir will be announced on October 8.
