Heavy Rainfall Expected In Specific Areas Till July 8, Says IMD

IMD predicts moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning in Northwest and Central India. During the first half of the week, isolated heavy rainfall is expected in several states, with very heavy rainfall likely in specific regions from July 5th to 7th.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning in Northwest and Central India for the coming week.

During the first half of the week, isolated heavy rainfall is anticipated in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.

Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh are expected to have isolated heavy rainfall all week.

IMD Predicts Rainfall In Northeast India

In early July, IMD predicts very heavy isolated rainfall in Northeast India on specific dates. Bihar expects heavy rainfall on July 5th, while Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim anticipate heavy rain until July 6th. On July 6th, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are expected to experience heavy rainfall, followed by Assam & Meghalaya on July 6th and 7th, and Odisha on July 7th. Arunachal Pradesh and Assam & Meghalaya may face isolated extremely heavy rainfall on July 5th.

Additionally, IMD forecasts that Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Coastal Karnataka, Konkan, and Goa, as well as Gujarat State, will experience fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning. Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, and Interior Karnataka are likely to see scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Rayalaseema, and Telangana can expect isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall during this period, according to IMD.

Rains In South India 

Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Telangana can expect rainfall on July 7th and 8th, Coastal Karnataka on July 8th, and South Interior Karnataka on July 5th and 8th. Additionally, isolated very heavy rainfall is likely in Konkan and Goa from July 4th to 6th, Madhya Maharashtra from July 4th to 8th, Saurashtra and Kutch on July 4th, Coastal Karnataka from July 4th to 7th, and South Interior Karnataka on July 4th, 6th, and 7th, according to IMD forecasts.
