In Ghatkesar, Hyderabad four individuals, including three IT professionals, have been arrested in connection with the murder of their colleague, Gajambikal Ajay Teja, during a birthday party at a farmhouse. The incident occurred on September 1, 2024, when Teja was pushed into a pool by two of the accused, who knew he could not swim. The accused attempted to make the act as an accidental drowning.

Party Violence Sparks Legal Actions

According to the Ghatkesar police, Ranjith Reddy and Sai Kumar, the primary suspects, had professional disputes with Teja, which they resolved in a violent manner during the party. The police have also arrested Srikanth, the manager of the IT firm, for illegally serving alcohol at the event. Under excise laws, organizers must obtain permission if they serve more than six bottles of liquor at a private gathering, but this requirement was ignored. The fourth individual arrested, Venkatesh, owns the farmhouse and failed to ensure safety measures around the pool.

Investigation Reveals Murder

The police investigated the case as a suspicious death but reclassified it as murder after further inquiry. The suspects admitted to their involvement during questioning. They had hard grievances against Teja, which led them to use the party as a cover for their crime. All four suspects are currently in 14-day judicial remand, with the investigation ongoing.
