IMD Issues Red Alert For Heavy Rain In 25 States, Including Delhi-NCR

The monsoon has become active nationwide, bringing rain to most states. While it has relieved heat, humidity remains a concern. Nonetheless, many states including Delhi-NCR, enjoy pleasant weather.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next 4 days. More than 20 states, including Delhi-NCR, are expected to experience heavy rains, accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms.

Winds are expected to reach speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. Above-average rainfall is forecasted for July. People in Delhi, Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Sikkim, South India, and North-East India have been advised to stay vigilant.

The weather in Delhi and nearby Noida is pleasant. Cold winds are blowing, and the sky is cloudy. The Meteorological Department predicts chances of substantial rainfall in Delhi until July 5.

Delhi experienced significant rainfall on Sunday, with light showers continuing in several areas on Monday. There is a possibility of rain today, Tuesday. Uttar Pradesh may experience heavy rain today and tomorrow.

Clouds are expected to linger over Haryana and Chandigarh, with rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in certain areas. Monsoon is anticipated to reach Punjab and Himachal Pradesh within the next 2 to 3 days, potentially bringing pleasant weather to Punjab due to rain in Haryana and Chandigarh. The impact of rainfall will be noticeable in the hilly regions of Himachal Pradesh. Cloud cover will contribute to a cool atmosphere in the mountains.
