Independence Day: Things You Cannot Keep Along To Red Fort On Aug 15; Guidelines Released
The Independence Day ceremony will be celebrated at the Red Fort on August 15, 2024. The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India will address the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort. For the convenience of invitees and to ensure security, certain traffic restrictions will be enforced in and around the Red Fort on August 15, 2024.
Delhi Police have stationed personnel around the Red Fort, with bomb disposal teams and sniffer dogs conducting thorough checks in the area for potential threats.
Delhi Police's AI-Enhanced Security
The Delhi Police, utilizing artificial intelligence, have installed numerous CCTV cameras. Special cameras equipped with facial recognition technology have been integrated into Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMD) to monitor attendees at the Red Fort. In coordination with Border Security Force personnel, Delhi Police are also patrolling the Yamuna River, using binoculars for enhanced security. Meanwhile, security measures have been tightened across Punjab, with Bathinda SSP Amneet Kondal highlighting the increased vigilance of local police.

Public advisory for security
The general public is advised to avoid bringing items such as cameras, binoculars, remote control car keys, umbrellas, handbags, briefcases, transistors, cigarette lighters, tiffin boxes, water bottles, and lunch boxes.
The public is urged not to touch any suspicious objects. Instead, they are asked to immediately report any unidentified or suspicious items, unusual behavior of individuals or vehicles, or anything out of the ordinary to the nearest police officer.
The use of sub-conventional aerial platforms, such as para-gliders, para-motors, hang gliders, UAVs, microlight aircraft, remotely piloted aircraft, hot air balloons, small powered aircraft, quadcopters, or para-jumping from aircraft, is prohibited over the National Capital Territory of Delhi until August 15, 2024.
