Indore Airport Faces Hoax Bomb Threat, Authorities In Action

Officials reported that on Friday, Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, received a hoax bomb threat. Authorities have lodged a case against unknown persons.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Alok Kumar Sharma said an unidentified person sent an email threatening a bomb blast at the airport.

ADCP Sharma said the airport authorities received an email about a bomb threat. They implemented security measures and conducted a drill with the local police and CISF involved.

He added that after investigating, the police and CISF found the threat to be a hoax.

He added that a case under section 507 (criminal intimidation by anonymous communication) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been filed against the unidentified person who sent the threatening email.

On June 19, Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, received a bomb threat. The police registered a case and began investigating the matter.

The airport authority received the bomb threat via email on Tuesday and reported it to the Aerodrum police station in the district.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP, Zone 1) Vinod Kumar Meena said that the airport authority received an email on Tuesday threatening to bomb Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport. The email also referenced other cities in the country.

Meena said the airport authority filed a complaint at Aerodrum police station after receiving the threat. The police registered a case and requested information from Gmail about the email.

He added that similar threats had been received in the past, and further investigation is ongoing.
