Kupwara Encounter: Two Terrorists Gunned Down By Security Forces In J&K, Operation Underway

Exchange of fire between security forces and terrorist was reported from Jammu and Kashmir’s  Kupwara on Friday.

According to the officials, Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police had launched joint operation in Kupwara based on the information of infiltration attempt.

Chinar Corps of Indian Army informed that the operation is in progress. They wrote on X, “On 04 Oct 2024, based on intelligence about infiltration attempt, a joint operation by the #IndianArmy and @JmuKmrPolice was launched at Gugaldhar, Kupwara. Alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged, leading to exchange of firing with terrorists. Vigilant troops carried out effective fire. Operation is in progress.”

Indian Army has informed that two terrorists have been eliminated by the security forces in the ongoing Operation at Gugaldhar. War-like stores have been recovered. Search of the area is underway and operation is in progress
