Jaipur: An army commando posted in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir has been brutally thrashed by the Jaipur police. The police officials had reportedly put the officer in the barrack, removed his clothes and thrashed him. They also forced him to say that the police department is better and bigger than the Indian army (police Bharatiya sena ki baap hai) and filmed it.

Rajyavardhan takes it up

The video later went viral and caught the eye of Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, the cabinet minister in the Rajasthan govt who has also previously served in the Indian army. Rathore directly reached the incident spot which happens to be the Shipra Path police station in Jaipur and rebuked the police officers on the incident, the video of which again surfaced on the internet.

In the video, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore can be seen rebuking police officers on etiquette, morality and service spirit.

Behind the incident

The army commando had come on a leave from Kashmir to Jaipur. He went to the Shipra Path police station on August 11 for a case related to his fellow commando where the former had an argument with the police officials and they beat him and filmed the video.

On being rebuked by Rathore over the assault of the army officer, ACP Sanjay Sharma said that the commando had used cuss words for the policemen that followed the incident. The minister then preached to him on protocols and manners for the interruption and asked him to leave if he could not listen to him carefully.

Rathore didn't stop there, he contacted the DGP UR Sahu on the matter after which four policemen including the sub-inspector Banna Lal got suspended.
