On Monday morning, officials reported that at least four Maoists were killed in a police clash in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district. This incident occurred just two days after a confrontation in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district, where eight Maoists and a Special Task Force (STF) jawan lost their lives.

The encounter took place in the Tonto and Goilkera area as part of a police operation aimed at countering Maoist activities in the region. Jharkhand Police spokesperson and IG (Operations) Amol V Homkar confirmed the incident.

Ashutosh Shekhar, West Singhbhum Superintendent of Police (SP), informed that following the encounter, the forces have successfully arrested an area commander and a hardcore female Naxalite. He mentioned that arms and ammunition were also recovered from the encounter site, and the search operation is ongoing.

According to reports, six of the eight Maoists killed in the encounter were senior-ranking cadres with a total bounty of ₹48 lakh on their heads. These cadres were part of the People's Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) military company no. 1 and the Maad division supply team formations.

Inspector General of Police for the Bastar range, Sundarraj P, stated in a press conference on Sunday that this was the second major success of the 'Maad Bachao Abhiyan' (anti-Maoist operation) conducted by the Narayanpur police within a week, and the fourth significant achievement in the past 45 days.
