Jharkhand: Three Passengers Mowed And Killed After Jumping Off Train Due To Fire Rumor

Rumors of a fire on the Sasaram-Ranchi Intercity Express caused panic among passengers, leading three of them to jump off the moving train and they were hit by another train. The incident happened around 8 pm on Friday near Kuman station in Jharkhand.

As passengers were settling in for the night, a rumor about a fire in the train's engine caused chaos. Several frightened passengers jumped off the train and were hit by a passing goods train on a nearby track.

Passengers died in Jharkhand train accident 

Three passengers were hit by the train and died instantly, while four others were injured in the incident.

Latehar Deputy Commissioner Garima Singh told PTI that the accident killed three people and injured four others. She mentioned that three bodies have been recovered, and a search operation is still ongoing.

An official statement from Indian Railways confirmed the incident, saying, "Today at Kumandih station in the Dhanbad division, some passengers got off train no. 18635 Sasaram Intercity Express due to a fire rumor and were hit by a goods train coming from the other side."
