Dr. Basavaraj Bommanhalli, the Director of GIMS, condemned the students' actions, calling it a serious mistake. He emphasized that they should have refrained from such activities within the hospital to avoid inconveniencing patients.

He further added that No official permission was granted for such activities. The students claimed they recorded the reels for a pre-graduation ceremony, but we have taken note of this. Their housemanship, which was originally scheduled to conclude in the next 10–20 days, has been extended by an additional 10 days.

This development follows Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundurao dismissing a doctor for organizing a pre-wedding photoshoot in the operation theatre of a government hospital in Chitradurga district.
