Kathua Attack Claims Two Brave Sons From A Single Family

In a tragic terrorist attack in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, five soldiers from Uttarakhand, including Adarsh Negi from Tehri, were martyred. This incident compounds the grief of Negi's family, who were already coping with a recent tragedy just two months ago when Adarsh's cousin, Major Pranay Negi, also sacrificed his life for national security in Leh last April.

The news of Adarsh Negi's martyrdom has plunged Daagar village in Tehri into profound mourning. Adarsh, only 26 years old, joined the Garhwal Rifles in 2018-19 and served his country courageously until his untimely death in the Kathua attack. His parents, Dalbir Singh Negi and his mother, are devastated by the loss of their beloved son. His father's eyes are brimming with tears, and his mother has been inconsolable since hearing the tragic news.

Adarsh Negi leaves behind a grieving family, including his father, mother, and elder siblings—a brother currently residing in Chennai and an elder sister who is married. Adarsh had recently returned home in February. He completed his schooling up to the twelfth grade at Rajkiya Inter College Pipalidhar before enlisting in the Garhwal Rifles. Alongside his military service, he was pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree from Garhwal University.

The loss of Adarsh Negi is not just a personal tragedy for his family but also a profound loss for the nation. His sacrifice and dedication to duty will be remembered with honor and reverence by all who knew him and by a grateful nation mourning the loss of such a brave soldier.
