Kerala Tragedy: Two-Year-Old Dies After Being Trapped By Seat Belt And Airbag On Mother’s Lap
Malappuram: In a heart-wrenching incident in Kerala's Malappuram district, a two-year-old girl, Ifa, tragically lost her life. The accident took place in Chappanangadi village when the car she was traveling in collided with a tanker truck. The devastating aftermath of the crash led to the child's suffocation, tragically caused by the car's airbag.
Airbag Suffocation Leads to Fatal Outcome
At the time of the accident, Ifa was seated on her mother’s lap in the front passenger seat. Upon impact, the car’s airbag deployed, pressing against her face. The situation worsened when the seatbelt became wrapped around her neck, leading to her suffocation.

Family Devastated by Irreparable Loss
Ifa’s father, Nazir, had only recently returned home from abroad two days before the tragedy. While the parents and other passengers sustained only minor injuries, they are devastated by the sudden loss of their little girl.
Police Initiate Investigation
The Kolathur police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident. Ifa's body was transported to the Government District Hospital in Perinthalmanna, and her funeral was held on Sunday. The accident occurred while the family was traveling through the Kottakkal-Padaparambu area.
