Liquor Prices Set To Drop In Karnataka Starting July 1

Alcohol addiction is so strong that when it's not available in one state, drinkers travel to the other state to get it. People coming from a dry state visit the states where alcohol is sold, either for work or leisure, they tend to drink exceedingly. The government of Karnataka has great news for people who enjoy drinking: starting July 1, alcohol prices will drop.

The Karnataka government has decided to reduce the liquor price to encourage the localities to purchase it. They announced a significant reduction in the prices of premium liquor brands, including beer, starting July 1.

The state government will implement a draft notification next month that reduces the excise duty on expensive types of liquor. This liquor price reduction has delighted wine lovers. The government has revised the prices of premium liquor in 16 different categories to make it competitive with the prices in neighboring states.

The move aims to make semi-premium and other liquor brands more affordable locally. The government believes this will encourage people to buy liquor in Karnataka instead of seeking cheaper options in other states. As per the report, the revised price of a 750 ml bottle of Greta, previously Rs. 2000, will drop to between Rs. 1700 and Rs. 1800 starting from July 1. Similarly, liquor priced at Rs. 5000 will now cost around Rs. 3600-3700, and liquor priced at Rs. 7100 will now be Rs. 5200.
